The Hancock County Public Defender Office, founded in January 2022, is funded by the citizens of Hancock County, the Indiana Public Defender Commission, and the court-ordered contributions of our clients. The Office is directed by the appointed Chief Public Defender under the guidance of a three-member Board:
Jonathan Albright, Chairman – Hancock County Commissioner appointment
Markus Dennis, Secretary – Hancock County Judicial appointment
Michael Adkins – State Public Defender Commission appointment
Meetings are held no less than Quarterly each year
