*SCAM ALERT - BE AWARE*

Hancock County Government has been made aware of numerous scams where individuals are posing as members of the Hancock County Sheriff's Office and other county government offices in an attempt to trick people into wiring money to pay for fake bills, services, to post bond and fines.

-Hancock County Government Offices will NEVER call you to request money be wired, sent electronically, or paid over the phone for any reason—including to clear warrants or post bond.
-If you receive a call like this, hang up immediately and do not provide any personal or financial information.
-If you are unsure about the legitimacy of a call, contact the county office in question directly using its official phone number posted on its webpage under the Departments section of this website.
