The Hancock County Sheriff's department K-9 Unit consists of five highly trained K-9's and handlers. We have two single purpose and three dual purpose K-9's currently working. The K-9s are certified in patrol and narcotics work.

 The K-9 Unit provides a service to our community and officers. The K-9's assist officers by detecting narcotics and apprehending violent criminals making our community a safe place.

The K-9 Unit performs public demonstrations at events (such as National Night Out, DARE picnic) for groups, for organizations and for schools.  

The Sheriff's office K-9 Unit is supported through donations and businesses in and around our community. Without this support the Unit would not be able to serve the community.
